The Muraca Bros. Co. was born in 1983, continuing the
commercial activity of the chestnuts undertaken years before
by Ferdinando Muraca, father of the Muraca Bros.
Founded as a joint company working in the trade of the
manufacturing and transformation of shelled fruit such as the
chestnuts type, the company today has reached to work also
in the trade of processing and transformation of fruit and
vegetable products.
The company area is 3000 square metres wide and consists of
two structures, one used for office space and the bigger one is
subdivided in two floors destined for the use of specific
processing; it is also united in between with a large parking area.
On the ground floor, takes place the work processing of the
chestnuts with modern equipment and advanced technology,
such as: sterilization plant, selected conveyor belt, packing,
mechanical brusher, calibres, dryers, mill, refrigerator cells and
optical selection device.
On the top floor instead it is used for the work processing of
fruits and vegetable products, we can find: a hall for the Work
and Production, a warehouse for the reception and storage of
the goods.
The Work and Production hall consists of a line for the pre-wash,
wash selection, a line for the Wash and Unsalting, Washer and mechanical Brusher for peppers, Cooking Oven, Grill, Cutters,
Cubecutters, Metal Cap Sealers/Fillers, Pasteurization Tunnel, Label Machine and Machine Sealer. 
Beside this hall, there is also a laboratory for analysis.
The Muraca Company has a yearly manufacturing of chestnuts equal to about 2000 tons, starting from a raw product up to
proposing on the market a vast range of by-products, instead for fruit and vegetable products, they reach to work about 600
tons of these products ( eggplants, peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, etc.). Our productions can be distinguished from the quality
control and careful and thorough choice of the raw materials, for the packing, and for the fair deal of quality and price.
Thanks to these characteristics, that have increased the requests for our products, our sales on the national market give it has
also entered today and actively present also in the international market, adapting our own productions to the health regulations
and rules of countries in exportation. In fact, we export in the Usa, Canada, Australia, Japan, Venezuela, EEC countries, such as:
France, England, Belgium, Holland ect.
The company has its head office in Cicala, in locality Pietro Gaultieri, an area close behind the town, surrounded by green and
centuries-old chestnut trees in a nature uncontaminated. It can be easily reached by North travelling on the highway A3 SA-RC,
exit Altilia Grimaldi, Colosimi, Bianchi, Carlopoli, Cicala, a route of 35 Km.
From the South, again the highway A3 SA-RC, exit Lamezia Terme, SS 280 “Dei Due Mari”, direction Catanzaro, exit Marcellinara,
Tiriolo, San Pietro Apostolo, Cicala, a route of 40 Km.
It is 50 Km. far away from the Lamezia Terme Int. Airport and 90 Km. from the Commercial Port/Harbour of Gioia Tauro.
The Flli. Muraca is a company looking forward and projecting towards the future with aim in expansion and to increase in labour
to contribute also with pride, to the developments of the territory and for the “South” which is often easily penalized, but that
it is rich of great resources.
